I heard a click and a whirr. The whirr went on and on. It was

getting louder. The whirr was inside my head and my knees were made of rubber. They were bending and I was falling and all the

time the whirr grew louder. I sat up with a start. What time was

it? I looked at the bedside table but they’d taken the clock away.

In fact, where was any of my stuff? I jumped out of bed in alarm,

looking for my clothes. My uniform wasn’t on the chair. I turned

around, then froze. Someone was lying in that bed.

And suddenly I remembered the young man I had seen in the

bed in that little hospital room. What if that had been … me?

Or anyhow, the material, concrete part of myself that in some

unexplainable way I’d gotten separated from. What if the form

which I had left lying in the hospital room in Texas was my own?

And if it were, how could I get back to it again?

Over 9000 was just a test for me to learn the developing curve and publishing tricks to Programming for the Android Platform.

I'll put out two more versions probably before I fully move on. However, I've already started a new app and there's a lot more to learn. Before I'm finished with 9000 I want to apply animation to onClick events so I can use what I've learned from that for my next project.

I'm driving home right now and it's storming out bad, at work all thelights and machines shut off and i lost much of my progress dialing in my parts but i was almost done.. Driving hone I hit a large puddle in the road. Car was going 45mph until it dropped to 20mph through the water, splashing HOUSES from the road! Crazy night, after I got home I started polishing my Android app and writing a draft book I plan on publishing someday.

Dalvik Debug Monitor

Dalvik is the Java Virtual Machine that Google made for Android, it's designed specifically for mobile use to utilize slow clock and save on energy consumption.

Here we have my HTC Hero connected to my Macbook and as we move around in the phone it reports EVERYTHING that is being done on a source level. It also breaks down CPU usage and other information for you. It's handy from a developers standpoint to see how the application your developing is behaving and how the system is reacting to it.

Probably the most impressive version in terms of boot speed and overall performance, even running as an emulated version. I can't wait to test out the new APIs and, better yet, run on my phone!

Android is getting pretty advanced and the evolution of the platform is much quicker than the iPhone mostly due to the ecosystem Google has made and the pushes they themselves had made to advance the platform.

It shall be interesting to see the battle yet to come in the Google TV vs Apple TV app market...

Sorry for the delay in postings, I have school and overtime at work, plus a wedding in a few weeks. I will try to update more often. I just got both of our phones running Android 2.1(HTC HERO's) using a ROOT method for flashing custom ROM's and such.Twice as fast, features all work, it's perfect! Expect more information..

Lab'n Cabin

This is what my basement lab will look like in a few years, including all the digitals such as: the oscilloscope, function generator, digital power supply w/ AC, capacitor testing unit, and variable soldering irons.

Ordering IC's is cheap, there could be hundreds of different kinds, all organized, for cheap!

My workshop will be for home improvement/modification, fun projects, distribution on eBay or such, things like that. It'll be a start for my second business that's concept is in the works. The other should be obvious by now, a software company of coarse with touches in publishing.

Mecanum Wheels!!

I found a ~~excuse~~ reason to get interested into robotics! The wheel, and even tracks for that matter, seemed so linear. It clouded my desire for something I knew I loved.

This changes everything, I'm very excited about Mecanum wheels! A one design wheel that has free motion in all directions, rollers attached to the circumference of wheel allow sideways motion, check out the video for extra credit.

The activity launcher issue was resolved today and I explained how the class and UI elements were constructed. This is using the 2.0.1 library.

It's interesting to observe how people react in situations where you test certain properties of their personality and intelligence and soon learn how they learn.

I've been doing that this past week at work. A good way to pass the time, passively teaching learned behaviors. For example, if you slowly adjust you attention to another subject at a given degree within the relative area while in conversation, the speaker will also adjust to that degree.

Last week I worked with another person, I formed parts while they inserted pre-threaded nuts into holes. I gave them my finished parts on a table and each time I would push one closer or set one in a way that risks it possibility of falling. That piece has more urgency that the part closer usually in any order, as indicated by their decisions.

While that be slightly different, the same principles and tests apply. It makes things more interesting..

This is the newest version of the Android OS 2.1 running on the Mac - emulated.

It's for development purposes, testing applications and such. I like all of the included features that previously needed applications, this release is really looking good and improved on much needed functionality.

The Future

Learning and writing, reading and speaking. Convincing few to be rich takes extra work but a smart approach leads to shortcuts.

Jumping hurdles here to make the time to imagine, to create. There's much negativity floating around my bubble, not from home but from the outside world. Staying optimistic is the only chance I have to stay motivated..

Warm thoughts

Sleeping by the fire last night with my girl was quite refreshing. I enjoy the simple things the most! It's easy to enjoy such things with her because she finds unique qualities in much of the same ways I do. I usuall first image all the basic components that make up what I'm doing. For example, when I'm driving a car I could visualize what's happening in the combustion engine while in motion; The hydraulics that force the wheels in direction; The tires spinning through the snow; How the snow reacts to the disruption, if heat is produced.. etc. A euphoric experience if ones mind is clear.. clear of obligations, responsibilities, desires, and emotions. There's a definite change that becomes apparent, you switch active hemispheres within your brain. As you may already be aware that the left hemisphere's duties consist of logical thought whereas the right is creativity. Digest that information and try it out on a quiet night to yourself.

Car Plow!

I got done with work, drove home in the blizzard with idiots whizzing past me.. I got 100 feet from my house and got a little bit stuck for a while, I shook it free and got another 50 feet before stopping.

I was totally stuck right in front of my house half in the road, so I decided to go get the snow blower. IT WAS MISSING!! I looked everywhere and I realized it's totally gone! I recall the landlord telling us he was going to give us a good one soon because he was getting a new model. I wonder where ours went?! This is not the landlords mind you, it was our previous neighbor, Brad's snowblower that he GAVE TO US.

Because of this I had to dig the car out with a shovel and half the road so I can get the car in the driveway so I don't get a ticket. (for being stuck, lol)

It took only about 30 minutes but that's mostly because I was still in 'work mode'....

Google, Twitter, Facebook, Apple.

The internet was created for one sole purpose, to improve communication and boost the speed of information and news. Apple brought us the computers, Microsoft stole them; Google brought us a usable way to find information; Facebook brought us all together (safely); Twitter is always bringing news and stories faster; YouTube brought us any kind of video instantly(before ads and MPAA); Ustream brings the 3D live streaming world to everyone instantly.... (etc)

The web has transformed every tool for information and communication, it has become a prime source of entertainment. There aren't very many people I KNOW that actually have cable or satellite anymore, we all use Hulu or Netflix.

Without these services most of us will be lost, I know I would be! I'm not the first to admit I feel a connectivity that resembles addiction to some, but to me it's a bond with others and information for ones exploration and to enhance mine and others lives around me. You just need to learn how to effectively use it that way.

Android and iPhone.. Are the beginning of a new era in computers, netbooks are a phase mostly; to lure everyone to the mobile platform. If netbooks succeed then we'll see an end to bulky notebooks and there will be only: Servers, Desktops, Netbooks/Tablets, Handhelds. (screw implants! ;D)

I'm so excited to have all my friends/family and coworkers on the Android platform for mobile and Mac for Desktop. I've actually worked pretty hard to get this far with everyone and I thank those who have help convincing! I really want to see the best of the best succeed, just like it would as natural selection.

I know getting the next stage of internet to the masses (aka... GOOGLE WAVE) will be difficult, I know it can be done!

Ghosts

I still feel the anxiety of pixel ghosting of LCD display's of long ago... When I think of programming drawing surfaces in java applets for some reason, in regards to my personal Java training, I imagine the design on a screen however even though I got an amazing display now, I always feel the screen is going to lag... Ugh.....

I'm 23 now and thoughts surround me.

My birthday was fantastic, nature and japanese food. I was so happy I got so many birthday posts on my Facebook wall. It's a holiday on it's own when I get so many social responses online!

Usually people find themselves too busy to spend a few minutes reading what people have wrote or links posted or even pictures that the uploader, spending all the time, going out of their way to share they're experiences with the world.

Luckily I have trained my girl well on keeping up on people online, because the internet is just another tool, like a car or a telephone. In keeping us connected means we'll have more things to say and think about, if positive we're happy, if negative we can have something to work against to succeed.

It makes me sad to realize how distant we all are even with our amazing phones and internet. I hope more people use Google Wave, Twitter, and Facebook in a mobility form without taking away from they're own fun, so that we all can live our lives as ONE.

Android 2.0(Eclair) emulated on the Mac for Development purposes, too bad it doesn't have Sense UI. However, The HTC Hero kernel source released into the wild means I could put Sense UI on my emulated build here! Time to build some apps! :D

I like dark interfaces and light interfaces, toolbars and menus I feel should be relative to time of day or emotions. So Android having nice dark interfaces and the Mac having a bright UI unless in negative display mode. This brings great versatility and arrays of emotions when dealing with user interfaces. A project regarding control of these functions would be fantastic. I came up with another UI design, specific app or instances of apps with individual brightness controls for focusing on subject matter. This could branch off into a huge project...

I never really used Blogger but with my new Dev Preview of Google Wave I decided to start up so I can see the bloggy feature. I can post the wave on my blog and when people comment on Blogger it's sent over to my wave as well. I also wanted to finally try out Google Friend Connect and you can do that on here so.. I never really liked the Notes feature on Facebook because nobody looks at them and you can only post a small msg on your wall and Twitter is only 140 characters. I wanted more so here I am.
